Funny how this one little ad can be so popular. I have met so many wonderful people here at this site. But not sure how long alot of them will stay at that site.
Seems  artfire wants to do changes and omitt some the things people use on thier site. I just wish they could take a poll before they do what they are doing. Of course those of us with out knowledge to make  a banner or a avatar. Another big line at the helping hands media site there on artfire. She also has a place to advertise your store on  (www.myhelpinghands.artfire.com)
Wow!  how much fun it has come to be just by taking a giant step and trying  something on the internet.

First Day of Summer and me

Seems kind funny that I would blog about the first day of summer. But when i sit and think about the idea of summer here in texas. Wow! what a crazy idea. Sure the idea of my husband having a job is good . The the weather is a crazy thing this year. I am awaiting my new polymer clay books . So I can challenge my mind and not let the heat/humidity get to me. Not sure where the UPS man is but im really hoping he comes soon.

I will be learning how to make dragons, people , and gifts for all of my family members for christmas. Silly Huh! But as my husband puts it. I am going to be busy and off the freeways , another words saving gas. Cant hardly wait to jump into the books.

Polymer clay has so many great artists connected to them . For instance,CForiginals.com she has a very unique style and is very good at helping you learn. I believe Cristi Fiesen has written  seven or eight books on polymer clay. She is very talented. If you get a chance check out her site Or even join her  yahoo group. She also has a few free downloadable projects to learn how to make and some that or only a few dollars.Christi is on the cover of FireMountanGems which is a very large online bead store. I really enjoy shopping with them . Never have an issue on getting my order.you.

Polymer clay has so many things that you can make out of it I really enjoy making earrings. family members seems to think that it is just a waste of time. But it is my time.I like to dehydrate my vegies and fruits for the winter and I really enjoy riding my vespa scooter. So guess that is a waste of time too But hey, Im having fun.and trying to enjoy the first day of summer here in texas. Well have to close so I can run and check the mail...... dont forget to check out my store www.kraftyclayandwood.artfire.com god bless , have a great day!

Found this Great Inexpensive Bug Catcher Idea

Cleaned, empty 2 liter soda bottle with straight sides

sharp xacto knife or razor

black electrical tape

masking tape

battery powered disc LED light-available in most stores. I got mine at True Value for US $4.99.

First, be sure to use a well cleaned bottle. If there is any residue, the bugs will be able to cling on to the sides to avoid the trap.

This is the supplies needed to make a inexpensive bug catcher

1.Remove the lid. Cut around with a clean cut using the top of the label as a guide. Using a good   cutting utensil will ensure a clean cut. If the cut is rough, the bug will get a foothold and not drop into the trap.
2.Using the bottom of the label as a guide, wrap the entire bottom of the bottle with black electric tape. This step must be taken or the bugs will be attracted to the outside of the bottle rather than enter the funnel top to be trapped. You can hold the bottle up to the light to see if you have any gaps in the tape. If so, they can easily be patched with small pieces of tape
     3.Remove the label.

4.Place the light in the bottom of the trap.
5.Turn the top upside down like a funnel and insert it into the bottom. It should fit snugly to keep the bugs from escaping.

6.Using masking tape, run 4 equally spaced strips from the top to the bottom of the trap. The bottle is too slick for the bugs to crawl up the sides, this tape will give them a pathway to get to the light that they crave.

7.Wait for night. Using a pencil, reach through the lid and turn on the light. Place the trap in an area where you have an infestation.

8.The bugs will climb up the masking tape and fall into the trap. In the morning, you can remove the light and dump the bugs into the toilet to be flushed. If the bugs are still alive and you prefer to kill them before you remove the light, you can enclose the entire trap in a sealed plastic bag and they will suffocate in a couple of hours.

9.You can reassemble the trap to be used again.

10.This simple project really works to trap those pesky insects. Hope it works for you.

This little bug catcher idea is a super one. I just wanted to share on my blog about a very talented soap maker . her name is bonnie . She has a very good store front as well as a great blog. Im sharing her with everyone on my blog as she has reached my heart here in texas as the bug catcher is formerly for stink bugs. But  I must say I have caught other bugs as well. And boy am I thankful for her great idea. Please dont take my advice take your own go and see for your self at  soapsmith.artfire.com

These ideas that come from reusing a 2 liter soda bottle is the best too since my family seems to have a few of them around on a daily basis. Guess you could say that I had a family mainly made up of soda not water.

The Beginning of a New Life kw kraftyclayandwood

I just want to mewntion again,"This is going to be the best start I have ever had". Seems no matter how many days we are here on this beautiful earth . God shows daily that all things through him are good,or in time can be good, with some patients. I say this as I travel through my life on an adventure to find a new life as I call it here in texas.Boy is that a challenge not tackled alone. I really need god to carry through this one!
To see how the people live here in texas compared to california. Not much different but then again very different. Seems  person her in texas has god closer to his/her heart.  They have many churches and the parking lots appear to be full every sunday. They enjoy  thier time but also give god his time as well.
That is just one difference that  I have had the opportunity to view with my own eyes.
Funny thing how it shows in the little ones too. My grandson has his view of the going to church on sunday. He hates to be late and cant wait to get to church. He says his teacher teaches him about god, they make pictures and sing. He is really cute with his hands on his wait yelling at the top of his lungs to his mother and father,"Hurry up! we are going to be late for church, guys! JUst wish I knew some adults that I have been blessed to know that felt that way about church(.God's House)
This is such a site to see with such a little man.Actually makes you wonder what career this little man will end up taking on when he grows up.We tend to forget just how much they pick up from thier surroundings. This little man has is granpa and step grandpa to live up to and I think he is doing a great job.
He has a way of telling the two granpa's apart. He calls the granpa from california that is his disneyland papa, and the step grandpa that lives close by him here in texas he calls him busypapa.
Busypapa due to the fact that ever since we have been here. His busypapa has been telling him he was going to take him fishing. And well due to his busypapa's new job. They have not gone fishing.
Funny how things look in the eyes of a 3 year old.
He is such a little man that when I sit to make a few of my little creations for my kraftyclayandwood.artfire.com website. He sits and plays with his playdough. he makes little cut outs, mixes the playdough together till he has  his fill of it.then it off to watch spider man or power rangers. Til the polymer clay creations are cooked. Then he likes to look them over and put them on order and tells me which one to make into earrings first. We do this on a day to day basis. Since we are still exploring texas.
